DANAO CITY, a prime city found at eastern Cebu Island, Philippines, is about 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Cebu City.

It was founded in 1844 and is a port on the Camotes Sea for nearby coalfields. It is also a service centre for the coastal agricultural area.
